These dolls are my new challenge for the Christmas season. As we have a young family we are trying to set our own traditions in motion. It's a mix of my favorite holiday memories, Chris's favorite holiday memories, and a creation of our own. A tradition I want to start is making a handmade gift for my kids each year. It's a desire to get back to the basics. I want my kids to find an appreciation for the simple things instead of the "I want bigger, I want more expensive." I would like our gifts to be full of love and meaning because there is so much that gets lost in this precious season in the light of commercialism.
So in the light of this Christmas season I'm making dolls. They also get a special ornament each year so when they grow up and move away they will have meaningful things wrapped memory and the love of their family to decorate their own trees with. The ornament tradition is something my mom did and I now pass it on to my own beautiful little gifts from God.

What a great tradition! I might have to copy you, although I might not have enough time to get it all together for this year. My parents did the ornament a year thing for me and my siblings and I loved bringing those ornaments out the first Christmas I was married. It made it feel like my family was in my new home with me.
